Pinning allows you to keep important information easily accessible in Nines. You can pin items across the platform, including **Logs, Assets, Zones, Tasks, Events, Projects, Lists, Documents**, and other supported sections. You can pin information directly from its overview page or, where available, from an individual item. 1. Navigate to the section containing the item you want to pin, such as Logs, Assets, or Zones. 2. Find the item you want to pin. 3. Click the **Pin icon (pushpin)** next to the item or in its available actions. 4. The Pin icon will change appearance to indicate that the item is pinned. For example: - **Logs:** Click the Pin icon in the top-right corner of a Log card or from the Logs overview. - **Documents, Assets, Zones, and other sections:** Click the Pin icon in the item's row on the overview page. ### Where do my pinned items appear? Pinned items are accessible in two places: - **Within their respective sections:** Pinned items appear at the top of their overview or list, making them easier to find. - **On your Dashboard:** The Pinned section brings together pinned information from across your account, so you can quickly access important items without navigating through different sections. To unpin an item, simply click its **Pin icon** again. The item will no longer be pinned in your personal view or appear in the Pinned section of your Dashboard. It will return to its regular position in the relevant overview, based on that section's sorting. **Note:** Unpinning an item does not delete or change the item itself. ### Are pins shared with other users? No. **Pins are personal and are not shared with other users.** - You can pin information that you have permission to view, even if another user created it. - Other users can independently pin or unpin the same information. - Pinning or unpinning an item does not affect anyone else's pins. - This applies to both existing and newly created pins. For example, if you unpin a Log that was previously pinned for everyone, it will only be unpinned for you. Other users' pinned views will remain unchanged. ### Permissions You can only pin and access information that you have permission to view. Your permission role and assigned properties determine which items are available to you.
