What are the latest platform updates? [Release Notes]

This a chronological list of every release that has happened on the platform, so you can easily keep track of changes to your Nines account. We limit the items included here to the bigger changes. This list starts from the early March 2024 period, when all clients received access to the updated version of Nines and this Support Center was introduced. For future updates still coming, see our roadmap items here.

 [August 12, 2025]  
  • Nines is officially SOC 2 Type II certified
  • Schedules now has a button to view the current week, a new filter to see only schedules, and the ability to show specific times for start, end and breaks
  • Projects have a Priority field, which can be added and edited, as well as filtered and sorted
  • Logs can now be converted to Tasks everywhere, including in the Log overview and on Log detail pages
  • Ability to check and uncheck all List items
  • Task exports now include start times and recurrence schedule
  • Bug fixes related to user permissions, task duplication, and schedules

  • Ability to create tasks without times (all-day tasks)
  • Option to add a start time to a task (for accurate display on the Calendar)
  • An account owner can now enforce two-factor authentication for all users (find this setting in the Admin console)
  • System log now reports on log-in activity, two-factor authentication enforcement and removal, and category management activity
  • Increased attachment limit on comments (can now add up to 10)
  • Bug fixes on tasks, imports, and user invitations

  • On all Overview pages, your filters will now be saved until you log out or navigate to a different household (which means, if you filter the results, change the number of results per page, or search within an Overview page, these settings will remain selected when you click to a specific object or another page and come back to the Overview page)
  • On the Tasks Overview page, quick in-line editing for Due Date
  • Option to add an End Date for a recurring task (which is especially useful for seasonal tasks)
  • Recurring fields now appear at the top of the form to create a new task
  • Ability to reassign all tasks to another user when deactivating a user
  • New details in the Activity Log, allowing you to see when task status is updated and when assets move between zones
  • Tasks marked as On Hold or At Risk will not be automatically overwritten as Overdue after the due date
  • Comments are paginated, displaying up to 5 at a time
  • Plus, a number of small UX improvements and bug fixes

  • Recurring events that will display on the Calendar and in your synced calendar feeds
  • New option for Tasks and Events to recur on the first or last day or weekday of the month
  • Ability to deactivate (and reactivate) users, which allows you to revoke a user's access but still see their historic activities (Admins can deactivate users from the Admin Console)
  • Ability to search and filter on the Activity Log in the Admin Console
  • A number of small but impactful changes, including:
    • On a task, the dropdown menu for Projects is now alphabetized and allows you to search for a project
    • Ability to see Property, Zone, and Asset images in a grid for multiple photos
    • New confirmation popup whenever you click out of an overlaying form on Tasks, Events and Protocols

  • Option to grant permission to ‘View all Projects’ for Admins, Managers, and potential custom permissions roles
  • Update to allow users with 'View only' permissions to still be able to check off items on a List
  • Filter option to exclude or view only completed Projects
  • Restored ability to manage and create Zone categories
  • Multiple bug fixes for Calendar (including display of recurring tasks), Protocols (making edits and deleting), Projects (permissions), and Connections (thumbnails)

Introduction of the Admin Console: Account Owners users now have access to one place for:

  • Managing users and their access, with the ability to see their 2FA status and last login date, and a way to promote additional users to Account Owners
  • Monitoring your account's activity log (a running list of actions users take in your account)
  • Accessing your billing information
  • Multi-client accounts will also have the ability to create and manage multiple households

With this change, we have also moved the Household information page to the lefthand navigation bar. The Users overview page is now embedded within Household information, which also includes account settings, imports and exports.

 

Other meaningful improvements to Calendar and Tasks:

  • Day and Week views on the Calendar
  • On the Calendar, filter for completed tasks
  • On the Calendar, completed tasks now display with a strikethrough for easy distinction between completed and active tasks
  • Updated mobile keyboard experience when selecting date and time
  • Ability to add checklists and headers when you're creating or editing a task
  • New formatting options on long text forms (strikethrough text and yellow options for font color and highlighter)
  • Option to sort completed Tasks by completion date
  • Button to delete tasks from the Tasks overview page
  • Tweaks and bug fixes, including consistently copying over Task checklists on recurring Tasks, List item attachment icon and attachment show as expected, task checklist can now be checked off again regardless of permission and device, Connection functionality will no longer get stuck in infinite loading state

  • Update to the mobile app to optimize notifications and camera functionality
  • Ability to include headings when you're loading a List into a Task
  • Ability to filter tasks on Tasks and Calendar to see only recurring tasks, or only non-recurring tasks
  • You can now see which user completed a task and when (note that this will only show on completed tasks going forward)
  • Tweaks and bug fixes, including pre-fill correct property and zone where possible, selecting a Project when creating Task, and update Task filters

  • New color coding for events and tasks on the Calendar, with legend in the property filter 
  • Ability to sort attachments alphabetically and chronologically
  • New currencies for amount fields
  • Tweaks and bug fixes, including the ability to select which custom field to delete, the ability to edit users with one click, and restored option to cancel when adding a zone

  • Duplicate Zones including the Assets in it (next will be the same for Properties with Zones and Assets in it), so you can set up and copy similarities between homes and rooms quickly
  • Ability to select if you want to copy connections and attachments (and Assets where relevant), when you are duplicating across your Nines account
  • Add captions to attachments that are photos
  • Add new List items via enter to speed up the process
  • Lots of small tweaks and improvements, including resizing Property and Zone images to see the full photos, adding more details when creating a Task via Connections, showing recurring tasks on the Calendar correctly

  • Add labels to Connections so you can clearly communicate relationships
  • On detail pages for objects (like a vendor or an asset), photo blocks no longer display if no photo has been updated, saving space and enabling you to see more at a glance

  • Users can now manage their event comment notification preference and as a follower receive notifications for new comments like on Tasks
  • Multi-household: ability to assign, tag and notify users across households and they will get notifications

  • Comments are now available on Tasks, Logs, Events, and Lists
  • Ability to add attachment to new and existing comments
  • You can now edit Log date field after the fact
  • Enabled connecting People resources with other People resources (eg Resident with Staff)
  • As a user with manage roles permissions you can see and update your own properties (and households if appropriate)
  • Users can now only see other users that they overlap with on households (on multi-household accounts)

  • Exports are now available for Events, Logs, Assets, Vendors, and Contacts
  • New layouts for overview and detail pages allow you to see more information above the fold
  • Ability to select the number of results displaying on overview pages ranging from 10 to 100

  • New copy icon next to email fields so you can easily copy and use email addresses

  • You can comment on Logs, just like you can with Tasks
  • Ability to see the contents of comments and mentions in notification emails
  • The iOS App has been updated so you can take photos within the app, no matter which iPhone you have — update in the App Store

  • Updates to Search including a new search results page that allows you to filter results based on the type of object you're looking for
  • You can now filter and see special dates (birthdays for Resident, Staff, and Contacts, and work anniversaries for Staff) on the Calendar
  • Overview pages have been improved to make it easier to see longer item names at a glance, plus filters and page numbers are preserved when coming back to the page, and you can open links in a new tab
  • New and updated Notifications settings for events and tasks, including a notification when an event gets rescheduled
  • You can now add additional phone numbers and email addresses with custom labels for Residents, Staff, Vendors and Contacts
  • Users with user management permissions are able to set log edit and delete permissions
  • You can now see the quantity of Assets on the overview page
  • Add new and empty lines in large text boxes for flexible formatting
  • You are now required to complete an extra confirmation step before deleting a property

  • A new export feature that allows admins and anyone else with the right permissions settings to export all of your Tasks 
  • The QuickView page for Tasks shows only actionable fields, with more details on Task detail pages
  • Infinite previews of recurring Tasks on the Calendar

  • Built out the Users page, which is now the default place to manage users. Here, you can invite new users, resend any pending invitations, set permission roles and assign property permissions, update contact details, and revoke a user's access (change role to No Access)
  • Ability to add attachments and reminders to Calendar Events, and the ability to manage Event follower and reminder notifications, which include a link back to the event in Nines
  • Added Activity logs for the account owner to monitor what users have created, updated, and deleted (and when it happened)
  • Ability to reorder Protocol chapters and sections, and added confirmation message before deleting any
  • Added an Assets tab on Zone pages to make it easy to add new Assets within that Zone
  • On overview pages, if you remove the default alphabetical sort order, you will now see the most recently created items at the top instead of the oldest
